It is an integrated kindergarten, primary school and junior high school built in the rich nature of Uruma City,Okinawa Prefecture. With the preservation of existing vegetation and ecosystems in mind, the layout plan was adapted to the shape of the site with undulations.
The need for aircraft noise control measures can not ensure internal and external continuity by opening and closing windows.
Therefore,we secured the outside activity area while avoiding strong sunlight unique to Okinawa by corridors, deep ridges and greening screens and proposed "building with shadow and greenery".
The “connector” (Media Center / Corridor / Courtyard) is a compact “cluster” for each application, such as each classroom building, kindergarten building, administration building, multi-purpose hall building, etc. It is the composition connected.
A bookshelf wall with a total length of about 35m and a media center that emphasizes the view on the valley side are used as versatile as a living room.In addition, the existing bungalows originally scattered on the site will be converted into special classrooms and counseling rooms, and the entire site will be used as a place for education.
