This international school is the first in Japan to conform to the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology's educational guidelines. The buildings for the kindergarten, the lower elementary school, the upper elementary school, and the administration, which are all single-story wood structures, are connected delicately, dividing the schoolyard. In the lower elementary school building, we inserted 'media corners' between the two classroom spaces developed to each grade level. The grade levels are in turn arranged to define the central courtyard. A media center is located at the heart of the upper elementary school building, which is divided into three grade levels with two classes each.
